February's Resolutions

January's goal of not making a goal, was a SUCCESS!  :)

Now onto:

My goals for February, are all food/beverage related.

I notoriously never ate lunch at work in 2011.  There just wasn't time to sit down and eat something.  It also didn't help that I never packed anything and that I refuse to purchase lunch at work - long story; but it has to do with them changing our discount, them letting their best employee go, and lack of good quality food for the cost.

So for the month of February, I decided that my first goal would be to take my lunch to work each day that I am scheduled.

Notice I said take, not make.
There was a really great sale at Fry's for Healthy Choice frozen meals.

Sure they have a lot of sodium and preservatives, but it's a simple way to make sure that I am not starving myself all day only to binge eat when I get home from work (which is what I was doing before).

My second goal for February is to take a Greek style yogurt to work each day that I am scheduled for breakfast.

My 3rd goal for the month of February is to not drink any soda.  We can get it for free at work when we bring in a dishwasher-safe recyclable cup - and it's really easy to get sucked into drink 1-4 32 oz. sodas a day.

I've given soda up once before.  I started by saying I would not drink Dr. Pepper for a year.  I was addicted to the stuff - no, seriously.  It was pretty much all I drank.

Once my year of no Dr. Pepper was over, I thought, well, if I can give up Dr. Pepper, surely I can give up all soda for a year.  Not only did I give soda up for a year, but I continued that goal and went 4 years with no soda.  It was an amazing thing.  I don't think that I failed or fell off the wagon when I started drinking soda again.  I simply decided it was OK for me to drink it from time to time.  But it would be great to cut back on the amount that I drink on a regular basis.

I think that these goals are totally simple, achievable and realistic.

Well, those are my goals for February.  What are yours?
